Thank you Lord for your precious creation and time away from the every day things to enjoy it! This past weekend I was able with our family to Myrtle Beach and stay at Caravelle Resort right on the beach. We met up with my sister Jenny and her family to enjoy three nights and four days in gorgeious 80 degree weather. The beach of course was picturesque, blustery, sandy and shelly. As a child on the beach I could jump waves and run on the beach and not feel the shells under my feet. This time being now 34 and 28 weeks pregnant with our son Jakob I favored the poolside area and the fresh mango smoothies. I really enjoyed watching my 2 years old Jasmine and her cousin Ellie playing in the sand, eating the sand and knocking over any kind of castle I attempted to make. I was able to take Jasmine near the waves and let her collect sea shells. Jasmine woke us up every morning at 6 am and said "out there, Mama, swim, Mama". She absolutely loved the pool. There was a heated, lazy river and a brightly colored kids pool with water dumping buckets and one foot deep of water. She also wanted to jump off the side of the big pool into my arms. I am so glad she loves the water. She enjoyed playing with the plastic watering can and bucket that Gram Gilmore gave her and steadily filled it up the water just to dump it back out again. We spent some time playing just outside the room on the carpet of grass decorated with different tropical flowers and palm trees. The girls loved to chase eachother and giggle. At night the Jenny and I took turns reading them stories. We cooked dinner for eachother and enjoyed the company of a family we are not able to live near. I am so grateful for this time of rest and rejuvination. Thanks again Lord for this time.

My Mama's Love

Just want to say how thankful I am for my mom. She loved me before she saw me. She love my dad and showed me how to love a husband. She loved all her kids equally as we grew up. She spanked us to discipline and teach us.....it worked! She gave us gifts....we like this better. She made us great meals and taught us how to cook and keep our homes looking nice. She supported our academic and creative endeavors. Most importantly she she daily read to us from God's Word. We knew she wasn't perfect but she knew Someone that was.....and because of her and my dad's example I came to know Him personally. Thanks Mom......I love you and pray you have a blessed day.....

Her Children arise and call her blessed, her husband also, and he praises her......a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Proverbs 31

Reliving my band days...

Well, I said I would never have a blog but I have changed my mind of course. Last night I closed a chapter in my life. I started playing the saxophone in the fifth grade and played through my third year in college. I was given a music scholarship to go to Georgia College and State University and studied there to be a nurse. I love music and had a wonderful time playing the sax for eleven years. I stopped playing after I entered into the nursing program. This year I heard that the GC&SU Jazz band was having a concert and reluctantly decided to go to the first of three practices. Most of it came back to me, including a cracked lip. We played last night in Russell and also honored Dr. Todd Shiver who after twenty years will be leaving the music program at Georgia College to go to Central Washington University. I feel I have played for my last time and it was magical. I know I didn't play as well as my last year in college but it was fun none the less.
